Studio Snapshot {November 08}
Friday, November 28, 2008 at 10:09PM Washed bisques awaiting glazing on my slab-roller. I don't like the logo on the slab-roller, so I paste it over with "artwork", like this HELP WANTED sign from the 99 cents store.

New kiln opening!
I have been working on this glaze for a year and I am very happy with the result. The glaze is called Luna. The color is inspired by the Italian hunter's moon as well as the Chinese Yingqing ware. (shadow blue white)

This Luna glaze is adjusted with a small amount of rare earth oxide. which explains the light lilac cast when seen under natural lighting. Because I controlled cool the firing, there are small crystals formed where the glaze is thick. It is very special.

Details of vases. The embossed designs are free form collage of my vintage printing press collection and custom designed stamps. I also designed the fonts on the vase on the right.
