We Paint Ceramics!
Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 07:14PM I used to love painting on ceramics before I got my hands on clay. (I still do!) On this snowy Saturday afternoon, I invited a few of my illustrator friends to my studio for a ceramic painting meet up. We were painting on greenware tiles, dinner plates and tumblers. Because the painted surface is greenware - unfired clay - we were able to use advance techniques such as resist painting and Sgraffitto, surface etching with a pin tool.
It is very nice that I can relaxe and not have to worry about ceramic production in the workshop. My guests and I exchange ideas, chat about bad movie plots and silly things. And our styles are so different, I cannot wait to see how the wares come out.
